The hallmark of a great photographer is the ability to wander throught the everyday and find shapes and patterns, in turn composing them in a way that sheds new light on the object(s) being photographed - whether it be a different perspective or eye pleasing symmetry. I think you've done that before - the pole itself is an incredibly simple object, yet you've picked a perspective that does so much more to the scene. I love how the cables radiate outwards from the center of the shot.
As ~manicmantis pointed out, the wide angle of the frame leaves us with the feeling that the buildings are leaning towards the pole - almost trying to grab more cable etc.
You've done a great job of showing how we as a society are interconnected through telecommunications systems. Last but not least - love the sepia tones.
This is the best shot I've seen all week - no joke. I'm glad I caught this on the main page before it dissapeared into the depths of DeviantArt.
